I’m at that stage in my life where big news usually has to do with pregnancies and babies. So I’m going to squash that rumor right now and confirm that that’s not at all what I’m talking about. Any other guesses?

I’m moving to Hawaii!
I got a fantastic job offer in Hawaii that I couldn’t turn down. I’ll be running Social Media for Outrigger Resorts, working out of the corporate office in Waikiki. That’s right… I’m moving home! Margaritas in the sun, anyone?
Despite the fact that I’m SO excited to start this new chapter in my life, it was a hard decision to leave Portland and the life I’ve built here in the last 8 years. The decision wasn’t made easier by the fact that Sam is going to stay in Portland for the next year since his teaching contract is already locked in. So I’m moving back to my parent’s house solo until he can join me and we get a place of our own. My childhood bedroom has long since been converted to a home office, but I’m taking it back over. Oh heyyy pull-out couch, I’m coming your way!
I accepted the position last week, and I’ve got three weeks to pack up all of my stuff (minus winter sweaters and boots, which are NOT coming with). Lola is staying with Sam because Hawaii’s animal rules are very strict, and she has to go through 3 months of “quarantine” here in Portland. Once her shots are up to date, she’s microchiped, and the vet can prove she doesn’t have rabies, Sam will send her on a plane my way.
The weirdest part of it all? Buying a one way ticket. Here goes nothing!
